How we review driver applications — and why we do it differently.
DriverEats does NOT use automated background checks, third-party consumer reporting agencies, or Checkr. Every application is reviewed by a human being.
DriverEats was built on the belief that everyone deserves a fair shot at earning a living. We do not run automated background checks. We do not use Checkr or any consumer reporting agency. No algorithm decides whether you can drive for us.
Every application is personally reviewed by Jason or a member of the DriverEats team. We look at the full picture — not just whether a flag appears in a database.
Our human review process checks:
We do not pull credit reports. We do not run criminal database searches through third parties. We do not use predictive screening algorithms.
You will hear back from a real person within 24–48 hours of submitting your complete application. If we need more information, we will reach out directly — not send a form rejection.
If your application is not approved, you can reach out to Jason directly to discuss. There is no algorithm to appeal — just a conversation.
